Privacy Policy

We never read your content. Your relationship is yours.
This Privacy Policy explains what Stayd collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It covers the Stayd mobile application and any related services we offer (together, "Stayd" or the "Service"). Stayd is operated by Quinten Gish ("we", "us", "our"). 1. What we collect
We collect only what the Service needs to work:
- Account information. When you create an account, we store your email address and, if you sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple returns to us. We do not store your password in plaintext; authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.
- Your Stayd content. The inventories you write, the commitments you make, the nudges generated from your own words, and timestamps for when you completed each Stayd. You chose to write these things so we could show them back to you and to your paired partner.
- Partner pairing information. A short invite code you share with your partner, and a reference linking the two accounts once paired.
- Subscription status. Whether you hold an active subscription, provided to us by RevenueCat. We do not see your payment card, your Apple ID password, or your billing address. Those stay with Apple.
- Basic device and diagnostics information. Crash reports and basic device metadata (device model, operating system version, app version) so we can fix bugs. We do not collect advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
2. What we do not collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library.
- We do not use advertising trackers.
- We do not build a profile of you for targeting.
3. How we use what we collect
We use your information to:
- Show you your own Stayd history.
- Show your paired partner the parts of your Stayd content that were always meant to be shared with them.
- Generate daily nudges pulled from words you chose to write.
- Deliver the subscription you paid for and restore it on a new device when you sign in.
- Diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
- Contact you about your account when necessary, such as to respond to a deletion request.
4. Who can see your content
Only you and your paired partner can read your inventories, commitments, and nudges. We do not read your content. Our employees and contractors cannot read your content in the ordinary course of business. Security rules on our database enforce this on every request.
We never sell your data. We do not train artificial intelligence models on your inventories. We do not share your words with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Service providers we use
To run Stayd, we rely on a small number of service providers. Each of them only receives the data they need to do their job:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) — stores your account and your Stayd content. Data lives in Firebase data centers.
- Apple — handles Sign in with Apple, delivers local notifications, and processes in-app purchases.
- RevenueCat — manages your subscription status so the app knows whether you have an active subscription.
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, including these providers. They act on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy terms.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and your Stayd content for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your records as described below.
7. Deleting your account and your data
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Open Settings and choose Delete Account. When you confirm, we remove your Stayd content, your pairing, and your authentication record. Some backups may persist for up to thirty days before they are overwritten in the normal course of database operations.
If you cannot use the in-app flow for any reason, email quinten@quintengish.com from the address on your account and we will remove your records within seven days.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly inside the app. For anything you cannot do in-app, email quinten@quintengish.com and we will help.
9. Children
Stayd is intended for adults in committed relationships. Stayd is not directed to children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit, authenticated access, and database-level security rules that prevent one account from reading another account's content. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with the care we would want for our own.
11. International users
Stayd is operated from the United States. If you use Stayd from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you inside the app. Continued use of Stayd after a change means you accept the updated policy.
